At the end of June, our partner Fujitsu organised the Fujitsu Experience Days in Munich. This two-day event at the Science Congress Centre, which is located on the impressive TU Munich Garching campus, provided an inspiring setting for pioneering strategies and technologies for a digital future.
The presentations and events mainly centred around the three thematic blocks of Artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing and green IT.
The head of UDS was very enthusiastic about the event overall and also had a few interesting facts to share: Did you know, for example, that sending an email generates about 0.3g of CO2 and sending an email with a large attachment even generates around 50g? And that a search query via ChatGPT generates significantly more CO2 than a normal search engine query?
This information gave us food for thought and prompted us to examine where and how we can save CO2 in this area.
