Three applications submitted on-site the day of the event, with more following in the days afterward: The response to our appearance at talent transfair 2026 was encouragingly concrete. On May 28, UDS was represented at the University of Kiel and engaged in conversations with many students as well as graduates. Thanks to the spacious 19 m² corner stand, our stand offered plenty of open space, creating an open and inviting atmosphere.
On site were Peter-Alexis Kasten, senior software developer at UDS; Wioleta Zeplin from the team support department; and Gabriel Amo-Takyi, software developer at UDS. Gabriel knows both sides of the story: Two years ago, he first came to UDS at talent transfair as a working student—today, he’s a permanent member of our development team.
Our goal was to find people who are truly passionate about software development and want to gain hands-on experience as part of an experienced IT team. After redesigning our stand in the months leading up to the event, it was immediately clear what UDS is all about. This led to many targeted conversations with students majoring in computer science, business informatics, and industrial engineering. Another striking feature this year was the high proportion of recent graduates.
What went over particularly well was that at UDS, the focus isn’t on years of professional experience, but rather on an interest in programming, a willingness to learn, and participation in real-world projects. Many were also pleasantly surprised that a relatively small IT company like UDS has been successful in the market for many years and develops challenging, versatile software solutions. Frequent questions focused directly on our day-to-day work, the entry requirements, and the role of artificial intelligence in software development.
Our conclusion: talent transfair 2026 was a great success for us. We were able to make new contacts, raise UDS’s profile as an employer, and collect our first applications on the spot. Two job interviews have already come out of the applications we received. If all goes well, our working student position will be filled again soon.
