Our software developments are only half as useful if they are not sustainably trained. UDS GmbH has therefore been successfully passing on its know-how to its customers for many years through in-house or on-site training courses - worldwide in German and English.
Now that the coronavirus pandemic has put a spanner in the works of these face-to-face training courses, the UDS team has responded by adapting its training concepts accordingly. With success.
After a good three years of further training in the use of the professional authoring tool “Articulate Rise” and knowledge development in didactic design, the first CAD face-to-face training courses were converted into modular e-learning courses. The training content, classic teaching methods and traditional media from the classroom training courses were used as input and the basis for the “WBTs” (web-based training courses). Instead of sketches on flipcharts, interactive infographics now take on the role of knowledge transfer. With the help of clear videos, comprehensible symbols and practical tips, the expert knowledge of the UDS now finds its way into the minds of the learners. The newly acquired knowledge is anchored at the end of each learning unit through varied quizzes.
And the investment is paying off - a long-standing customer, for whom UDS developed logistics software, offers the AutoCAD basic courses converted by UDS as WBTs in German and English to its employees as part of its e-learning training centre with great success. The time flexibility, location-independent learning and individual learning speeds are particularly appreciated.
It continues: due to the great popularity, the customer has already commissioned the next implementation of a WBT course. The UDS team is delighted and is putting the pens for the flipchart back in the cupboard.
